Welcome

The rapid expansion in the number of Waldorf schools in North America has created a great need for teachers. Because many people are unable to attend an established Waldorf Teacher Training College, a four-year, part-time course of study began at Summerfield Waldorf School in Santa Rosa, California in 1990.

The first class of teachers graduated in 1994. The purpose of this course is to prepare students to become Waldorf teachers at the kindergarten, elementary, and high school levels. Special emphasis is given to the transformation of the Self through the study of Anthroposophy, art, and community building. It is also open to people who would like to study Waldorf pedagogy, Anthroposophy, and the arts more deeply.
